The Chapelton team are once again looking forward to the Royal Highland Show in June. We have three bulls by Glenisla Banqo, Cavans Yankee and Chapelton Typhoon shown alongside two heifers, both by Glenisla Banqo.
All animals will be available for sale.
In the heifer classes, Chapelton Honeysuckle won the junior heifer class and we plan to offer her at the October sale in Stirling. She has been served with semen from Dunsyre North Star.
Chapelton Duchess has since been sold to Edward Page alongside several other Chapelton females which will form the basis of his new herd at Rookwith near Ripon.
In the bull classes, Chapelton Equity was placed second in his class, won by the Overall Male Champion Knockenjig Eclipse.
Chapelton Esquire was fourth in a strong junior bull class.
Chapelton Excalibur, a Typhoon son, has been sold to Robert Crawford’s Brackenhill herd in Ayrshire.
It was also pleasing to see Chapelton bloodlines doing well elsewhere in the breed. James Porter’s Gipsy Rascal, a daughter of Chapelton Touchstone was Overall Champion.
Dacre Rock Star, a Chapelton Promoter son, also did well and was Reserve Male Champion. Together, they also took Reserve Interbreed Pair.
