Chapelton is a grassland farm near Castle Douglas in South West Scotland and home to our Beef Shorthorn and Aberdeen Angus herds each consisting of 75 pedigree cows. We also run a herd of 200 commercial cows bred using only our own genetics. Our breeding policy across all herds focusses on:

We offer pedigree bulls and females for sale on-farm and at Stirling and Carlisle sales. These animals are suited to both pedigree and commercial breeders.
Commercial cross-bred heifers are often available for sale on-farm, and we welcome any potential customers who wish to view our broader commercial system. In recent years these females have been purchased as embryo recipients and as foundation stock for refocussing commercial herds.
