Stirling Sales – Draft of Shorthorn Heifers

We are offering for sale at the Stirling Bull Sales, a group of seven heifers from some of our leading female families. Most of these carry the service of our latest stock sire Stonehills X Factor, the 7500gns son of 2010 Conference Show Champion Elliott Bodacious while their pedigrees combine outstanding stock bulls Chapelton Typhoon, Cavans Yankee and Glenisla Banqo with leading Chapelton female bloodlines.

We were delighted to see the heifers sell to the herds of Sarah Wilkins, Simon Farmer and Cloncaird Castle. The group averaged 3,600 gns with Duchess 4002 selling for or top price of 4,600 gns.

Chapelton Duchess 4002 (P)

Maternal half-sister to Yankee sons Chapelton Clansman (Pode Hole) and Chapelton Edition (Minsca), the Duchess family has combined with Typhoon to produce leading stock bulls Braveheart, Champion Feb 2010 (Balgay), Covenanter (Meonhill) and Duke, Champion Feb 2012 (Alvie).

Chapelton Pixie 4025 (P)
PD’d in-calf to Stonehills X Factor. Due early June 2014.
Cavans Yankee sired 10,000gns Chapelton Clansman (Pode Hole) while Pixie 4015’s grand-dam Pixie 780 produced Chapelton Zebec, a successful sire for Lowther and was later sold as a foundation female to Balgay.
Pixie falls in the top 10% for eye muscle, retail yield and rib fat.

Chapelton Sister 4047 (P)
PD’d in-calf to Stonehills X Factor. Due late June 2014.
Sister 3151 is a full sister to Chapelton Ensign, stock bull at Glenrinnes and Glenisla Banqo sired the record 13,000gns Honeysuckle.
Sister combines top 10% calving ease with top 10% terminal and self replacing indexes.

PD’d in-calf to Stonehills X Factor. Due late June.
The Nettle family produced record priced Dauphin while Nettle 3139 was a third prize winner at World Conference Show 2010.

Chapelton Waterloo 4079 (P)
Served AI by Dunsyre North Star 29/11/13.
Maternal sister to Bugatti, who sold for 5500 gns to Orkney. Cavans Yankee sired Clansman (Pode Hole). Waterloo 790 one of our oldest cows has four daughters in the herd.

By Glenisla Banqo, sire of record priced Honeysuckle 13,000gns and out of a full sister to Chapelton Zodiac (Abbotsreading), Champion Perth Feb 2008 who sold for 8000gns. Maternal grand-dam Veronica 685, our oldest cow has had a calf every year for nine years.

From the family which produced Typhoon, this heifer is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the breed’s most influential maternal bloodlines with Glenisla Banqo as sire. Her dam is a full sister to Typhoon who sired record price Dauphin.
