Chapelton Nomad

Chapelton Nomad is a home-bred bull by Fergus of Upsall. He was retained by Donald, and combines the best of our traditional selection with our performance analysis and focus on profitability. Nomad was classified Excellent 95 in July 2024.

Chapelton Nomad

Nomad has sired in excess of 100 calves to date and is still in use at Chapelton. His direct calving ease has been very pleasing. His calves have weighed an average of 38.6kgs at birth. Nomad himself, was born unassisted.

He is a Trait Leader for 400 Day Weight and Carcase Weight.

Nomad’s Dam, Ariel 4406, was classified Excellent 90. She consistently produces smaller than average sized calves, and has scored well for udder suspension and teat size.

Nomad has a maternal half-sister in the herd, Ariel 6389. She has had two calves to date. Both were born without assistance and with good vigour. Her temperament scores have been perfect and her udder suspension and teat size good.

Nomad’s sire, Fergus, sired over 100 calves at Chapelton. His daughters have had 110 calves to date, and they continue to perform well for us. We are very happy with their average udder, teat, and temperament scores, and his daughters average pelvic area is also pleasing.
