We are now looking forward to the coming sales in February. We have entered six Shorthorn bulls by Typhoon and Banqo, and a further two Angus Bulls by Watchword.
We are also taking two Shorthorn females, both AI’d to Dunsyre North Star.
All bulls passed a semen test on the 11/1/13.
The two heifers were also confirmed in-calf on this date.
One of Banqo’s first sons, Epiphany’s Dam is by Cavans Yankee and Grand Dam by Tofts Romany. He is in the top 1% of the breed for both SRI and TSI.
Epiphany was not sold at Stirling and has been retained for use on our own commercial cows.
A roan Banqo son, Emir is one of the first Chapelton bulls to test homozygous polled. His Dam is a Yankee daughter from the prolific Cheerleader family.
Emir won his class and the pairs. He was sold to Greenmount College, Northern Ireland for 7,500 gns.
Full brother to the record breaking Dauphin, Exemplar is another roan, well muscled bull combining the merits of Typhoon and Tofts Romany.
Exemplar was Supreme Champion and sold for 8,000 gns to Selby Robson, Otterburn.
An attractive, well muscled red bull, line-bred to the highly influential CF Trump. Emissary combines easy calving figures with eye muscle area in the top 1%.
Emissary was sold for 4,000 gns to Knocknagael. He was placed fourth in his class.
A homozygous polled son of Glenisla Banqo, placed second prize at RHS 2012. Equity’s Dam, by Tofts Romany comes from the successful Gem family.
Equity was sold privately to Landale Farms, Dalswinton.
Emperor combines easy calving, high growth rates and exceptional muscling. His full brother Adonis, sold to Laga Farms Ltd, Orkney in 2009.
Emporer was third in his class and sold to Mr. Meikle, Dundee for 3,000 gns.
Chapelton Ariel 3724
A twin Typhoon daughter, AI’d to Dunsyre North Star.
Chapelton Ariel stood Reserve Female Champion. She sold for 2,100 gns to Michael Conway, Kilrush, Ireland
Chapelton Secret Sally
Banqo daughter also AI’d to Dunsyre North Star.
Secret Sally was the highest priced female at the sales going to M. Lamb, Peterhead for 2,400 gns.
Aberdeen Angus Bulls
Duce combines top 10% growth rate with outstanding eye muscle area and IMF figures. A full sister of his has been retained in the herd.
Duce sold for 3,200 gns to repeat buyer, Robert Barbour, Craillinghall, Jedburgh.
Also a son of Watch Word, whose progeny exhibit high growth rates and high muscling.
Precentor was placed fourth in his class and sold for 3,800 gns to Landale Farms, Dalswinton.
